Building Toolboxes for the Future with KPMG

This summer, The Armory Foundation was proud to partner once again with KPMG as part of their annual Day of Service. As a highlight of our Great Minds Summer Program, 30 of our middle school students joined KPMG volunteers for a hands-on, creative project in building personalized toolboxes for the future.

The event was filled with energy and excitement. Students worked alongside volunteers, hammering nails, painting, and designing toolboxes that were as unique as they are. Inside each toolbox, students placed both practical items like hammers, screwdrivers, and wrenches—as well as symbolic tools such as notebooks, books, and compasses. These items represent not just skills for today, but guidance, inspiration, and confidence for the journeys ahead.

What made the day truly special were the smiles on the students’ faces, the sound of collaboration and creativity in the room, and the chance to see their imaginations come to life. For our young participants, the toolboxes became more than just storage. They became reminders of the bright futures they are building with the support of mentors and partners who believe in them.

We are deeply grateful to KPMG for their continued partnership and commitment to empowering our youth. With dedicated partners like them, The Armory Foundation can continue to create opportunities that help students reach their highest potential. We look forward to welcoming KPMG back next summer for another inspiring day of service.
