Our Community Programs

Education, fitness, and family fun at a world-class facility

The Armory Foundation is committed to celebrating and welcoming the Washington Heights, Inwood and Harlem communities. To that end, we offer a number of programs and initiatives:

CityTrack and Little Feet presented by NYRR

The Armory Foundation offers two youth track and field programs for students in grades 2-8 who go to school or live in the Washington Heights, Inwood, and Harlem communities of NYC.

CityTrack is designed for middle school students to learn and enhance their running, jumping, and throwing skills.

Little Feet presented by NYRR engages 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th graders to have fun and enjoy the sensation of movement through track & field and related activities. It enables elementary students to develop healthy exercise habits.

Armory College Prep Middle School Program

At The Armory Foundation, we believe that it is never too early to start preparing for college success. The Armory College Prep Middle School program provides its students with academic support, computer science education, and high school application guidance through two sessions each week.

Students in our no-cost after school CityTrack program (grades 6-8) are eligible to join. For more information, including scheduling, please visit the page linked or call 212.923-1803 x7024.

Armory College Prep Great Minds

Armory College Prep’s Great Minds program is exclusively for 5th-grade students that participate in our Little Feet athletic after-school program at The Armory. In past years, we have focused on teaching our participants the skills used in building and coding robots to complete missions and learning to work as teams to achieve common goals. This year, Great Minds has introduced the Stock Market Game and video game creations with Games for Change. Trivia, brain teasers, and various activities also foster collaboration, allowing social skills to blossom. Great Minds meets on Fridays from 3:00-5:00pm and is offered at no-cost to participants.
