The Armory Becomes COVID-19 Vaccination Center

Given the severity of the current COVID-19 pandemic and the unique space at The Armory, NewYork-Presbyterian, working with New York State, is utilizing The Armory as a COVID-19 vaccination site.

The Armory has a storied history of serving the public when the need arises. Our building was originally built in 1904 for the New York State Militia, whose job was to protect New Yorkers.  So, it is fitting that The Armory can again be vitally important to protect New Yorkers during the worst public health crisis of this past century.

We are really pleased that until now we were able to safely host indoor community initiatives, track practices, and track meets on site while following stringent health protocols. The Armory hopes that countless New Yorkers will remember The Armory for not only being where more track & field records have been set than anywhere else, but also where they received their COVID-19 vaccine.
