Armory High School Practice Rules
1. No youth or high school athlete will be allowed into The Armory unless one of his or her authorized coaches is in the building ready to supervise.
a. All coaches and athletes must show authorized ID at the front desk.
b. Coaches will be responsible for their athletes in the building at all times.
c. No youth or high school athlete should be left in the building after the coach leaves.
2. All teams must assign a person to watch over their youth or high school athletes’ belongings at all
times. This may be a coach or another athlete. Note: it is not possible for The
Armory’s staff to identify by sight if a backpack is picked up by its rightful
owner.
3. All athletes must be properly attired at all times while in the Armory. Shoes must
have rubber bottoms and no spikes. No plastic bottoms are allowed. The use of
spikes during youth or high school practice will result in suspensions for athletes and teams.
4. Athletes on high school team rosters are authorized to train between the hours of 2:30 pm
and 6:55 pm only.
5. Coaches and athletes will be responsible for following all rules and the
instructions of The Armory staff.
6. No gum, food, or beverages are allowed inside the track area, and no spitting is
allowed on the track floor.
7. Coaches will be responsible for assuring that the rules regarding the use of lanes
are adhered to. During high school practice, when running:
a. Lane 1 is reserved for wheelchair or race walk athletes
b. Lanes 2 and 3 are for running at 32 seconds or slower per 200-meter lap
c. Lanes 4 and 5 are for running faster than 32 seconds per 200-meter lap
d. Run in a single file in groups of 8 or less, and headphones are prohibited
8. No coats, books, or other gear is permitted on the track, infield, or Mondo “apron.”
