26.2 Miles for a Cause

Over 100 teams of 2-8 runners joined this past weekend’s Armory NYC Indoor Marathon Team Relay presented by NYRR. This fun, fundraising event was a resounding success, raising money for the Armory Foundation and Armory College Prep program.

Over the course of the three-day event, Armory College Prep students were able to connect with many of the runners, who represent prominent positions in the financial, law and medical industries.

The event was highlighted by two elite runners setting indoor marathon world records during The Armory NYC Indoor Marathon World Record Challenge. Malcolm Richards, who works as an elementary school teacher in San Francisco, reclaimed his indoor marathon world record with 2:19:01. Lindsey Scherf, who is from nearby Scarsdale, NY broke the tape in 2:40:55.

The final day of The Armory NYC Indoor Marathon Team Relay ended on a high note, as The Armory Foundation and Armory College Prep program received a generous donation from Team Full Throttle Endurance.

If you’d like to make a donation you can do so at armory.nyc/donate.
