Great Minds Summer Program Visits Alliance Bernstein

This summer, our Great Minds Summer Program students had the unique opportunity to visit our longtime partners at AllianceBernstein in their new Hudson Yards office.

The day began with a tour of their offices, giving our students a behind-the-scenes look at where financial management takes place. They were also able to meet many of the AllianceBernstein volunteers who have supported our students through the Stock Market Game over the past several years. Each year, our students manage a simulated $100,000 portfolio, learning how to take risks, evaluate opportunities, and work together as a team. The guidance and mentorship of AllianceBernstein volunteers have been invaluable in making this program both educational and exciting.

During the visit, students and volunteers teamed up for a Shark Tank–style challenge, where they had just a few minutes to create and pitch their own companies designed to provide value to the world and grow over time. The room came alive with creativity and energy as groups presented their ideas and sought votes from their peers.

It was a day full of learning, laughter, and inspiration. Experiences like this not only bring financial concepts to life but also help our students build confidence, teamwork, and communication skills. We are deeply grateful to our friends at AllianceBernstein for opening their doors, sharing their expertise, and making lasting memories with our students.

This is a day our students will remember for years to come, and it represents exactly what the Great Minds Summer Program is all about. Learning through experience, supported by a community that believes in their potential.
