Celebrating the Future: CityTrack & Little Feet’s Final Day and Annual High School Fair

On the final day of our CityTrack and Little Feet program, we wrapped up not only another fantastic season, but also marked a big milestone for our eighth-grade students! Many of these students have been with us since second grade, so while it’s definitely bittersweet to see them move on, we’re incredibly proud of how far they’ve come. As they head off to high school and age out of CityTrack, we’re excited to see what the next chapter brings for each of them. During our last session, athletes got to say their goodbyes to coaches, who sent them off with encouraging words, tips for staying active during the summer, and enthusiastic invitations to return in the fall. We’ll be reopening applications in September and are looking forward to hitting the ground running again in October.

We closed out the season with one of our favorite traditions: the Annual High School Fair. Students and their families had a chance to connect directly with school representatives, ask questions, and get a better sense of what high school life might look like. It was a great opportunity for our young people to start thinking seriously about the kind of schools and communities they want to be part of. For many families—especially those navigating this process for the first time—it was also a helpful way to make things feel less confusing and a lot more doable.

Here at the Armory Foundation, we love hosting events like this because they’re all about access, confidence, and community. So many of our participants come from immigrant families, and we know how overwhelming the high school application process can be. Being able to offer a space where students feel supported, informed, and excited about their futures is something we take a lot of pride in. Huge thanks to everyone who helped make our last session so special—we can’t wait to welcome everyone back in the fall!
