Seniors AIM High Celebrates Valentine’s Day with Community and Connection

On February 12, the Armory’s Seniors AIM High program celebrated Valentine’s Day in a heartfelt and meaningful way. Each participant received a handwritten card from students in the Armory’s Great Minds program. Nearly 60 students in grades 4 through 8, who visit The Armory for academic programming, wrote thoughtful messages filled with kindness, enthusiasm, and gratitude.

Seniors AIM High participants attend twice a week, every week, dedicating themselves to regular exercise and lifelong learning. Through sessions that include guidance from doctors affiliated with Columbia University Medical Center and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, they demonstrate what a sustained commitment to wellness truly looks like. Their consistency and energy are a powerful example for all of us.

In addition to their handwritten letters, the Great Minds students also designed and created 3D-printed magnets during their regular classes, which were included in the seniors’ Valentine’s envelopes. This special exchange highlighted the meaningful intergenerational connections being built at the Armory.

We are proud to welcome and support our Seniors AIM High participants and to create opportunities that bring young people and older adults together.
